Module Description: This is a module designed as a self-paced learning environment, delivered entirely online with video, lectures, reading and progression quizzing. Learning content is based on research publications and extension resources developed by national experts. The targeted learner is expected to have completed undergraduate level coursework in genetics. A final competency test will be given online. This module is a companion module to Disease Resistance Breeding: Soybean Case Study and may be taken before, at the same semester, or after the Soybean Case Study module.
The module focus is the discovery and use of transgenes to provide disease resistance in crops.

High-speed Internet access with a current browser, email, and video ability. Recommended browsers include Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
All materials are in Campus eXtension Online. Non-credit students will receive an Enrollment Key/Password near to the start of the class.
Admission to the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture’s Plant Breeding & Genetics Professional Certificate. Strong background in genetics and biology are recommended.
